An open appeal to Mazda of North America...

Dear Mazda,
I wanted to buy one of your cars yesterday. Your new Mazda6 is really nice, and suits my needs very well! I spend all day in my car, and so need something comfortable, fun, and fuel efficient. Top on my list of priorities however, is a great stereo. My music is my best friend during long stretches behind the wheel.
To start my test drive, I plugged my iPod in, and selected "iPod" on your head unit. And then I waited. And I waited... and then started driving. And 10 minutes later, it finally found my music. Not good. When I turned the car off (leaving my device connected) and then started it up again, it had to go through the whole process again! I think if I had to live with this thing, I would blow a hole in the console.
I've done some searching since getting home. It looks like a lot of people who have actually purchased your cars which feature this unit (CX-5, Mazda6) are having issues. I'm seeing people choose specific songs from playlists, and the stereo decide to play something else for them. I'm seeing menu functions just plain not work. What I am not seeing, are answers from Mazda.
Now, I'm iffy as to whether or not I could live with this faulty device. The rest of the car is very nice. However... I know I couldn't live with a car manufacturer who, from everything I can see, has not even issued a statement regarding this issue. Are you even considering working on a fix?
The dealer I spoke to played it off like this was the first they'd heard of the issue, however given the number of CX-5's I see on the road, this can hardly be the case. Certainly someone must have come to them with the complaint by now. And how on earth did a system with these kinds of problems in model year 2014 vehicle, make it into model year 2015?!?! Every indication I get leads me to believe you, as a manufacturer, have stuck your head in the sand when it comes to this issue. It may not seem like a big one, but it will mean I don't buy your car. And it led me to write this post. So if you are aware, and are doing what you can, then that's great. Even if the end result is that there isn't a fix, it's just not possible (doubtful), that's fine. Can someone please acknowledge the issue, and make the car buying public feel like you are a brand that listens? I know that would go a long way with me.
For your reference, I have included the below review. This gent quotes a minute and a half wait time... he must not have much music. I have a 160gb iPod classic (Gen 7) which is packed full of music. My wait was significantly longer than a minute and a half.
Thanks for listening (if you have).
